Job summary

West Star Aviation is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Technician for weekend shifts in East Alton, IL. You will perform mechanical tasks, troubleshoot systems, and assist with inspections on civilian aircraft in a fast-paced hangar environment.

The role requires Airframe or Powerplant licensing with varying experience levels; federal guidelines apply and safety rules must be followed. Strong communication in English is essential.

Qualifications

• Airframe or Powerplant license required; Airframe license preferred.
• 0–2 years of experience in aviation maintenance or related field.
• 4–6+ years experience for advanced levels (AMT IV) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
• Remove and install panels and components.
• Troubleshoot and solve aircraft system issues.
• Inspect and evaluate the aircraft and components.
• Move aircraft and assist in performance runs and taxiing.
• Maintain shop facility, equipment and tooling.
• Operate ground support equipment.
• Communicate effectively in English.
