Job summary

West Star Aviation Inc. is seeking a Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift (1730) in East Alton, IL. The role focuses on leading a team of technicians to deliver high-quality maintenance and repair services, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and efficiency.

You will supervise multiple technicians, train, mentor, and coordinate projects while ensuring adherence to FAA guidelines. Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and Airframe and Powerplant License are required.
• A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
• Aircraft specific factory training is preferred.
• 8+ years in aviation maintenance preferred.
• 4+ years in program specific airframes.
• Minimal supervision; lead small groups daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to complete jobs and manage day-to-day tasks.
• Implement turnover of work to the next shift.
• Reduce turn time of aircraft.
• Train/mentor technicians assigned to projects.
• Supervise team members in daily workload.
• Perform mechanical work on aircraft and related systems.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate systems on the aircraft.
• Coordinate projects and communicate effectively in English.
