Technique is seeking a Weekend Day Shift 3D Laser Technician (Multi‑Axis) for our Jackson, Michigan facility. The role advances from general operator duties to Level 1 technician competencies, including fixture setup and blueprint reading, with emphasis on safe practices and accurate decision making.

The ideal candidate understands materials, tolerances, and 6‑axis laser cutting. Familiarity with lockout/tagout, surface plate layouts, and basic tack welding is valued; ability to read blueprints

Qualifications

• Ability to make fast and accurate decisions relating to the production process and multi‑axis laser cutting equipment.
• Familiar with lockout/tagout procedures and safety protocols.
• Experience reading blueprints and understanding tolerances for laser cutting.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and follow defined safety procedures.
• Overtime availability is required.
• Maintain schedule flexibility and adapt to production needs.
• Load parts into the laser machine and start/stop processes.
• Recognize and ensure cut quality and position.
