Technique is a Michigan-based precision sheet metal and welded assemblies manufacturer serving aerospace, defense, automotive, motorsports, medical, and food processing industries. We specialize in high-speed prototypes, ultra-low volume stampings, tubing, and assemblies for production and emergency-based manufacturing.

We seek a 3D Laser Technician (Multi-Axis Laser) on 2nd shift in Jackson, MI to load parts, set fixtures, read blueprints, and monitor cut quality on advanced multi-axis laser

Qualifications

• Ability to make fast and accurate decisions related to the production process and advanced multi-axis laser cutting equipment.
• Good understanding of materials, tolerances, and 6-axis laser cutting techniques.
• Commitment to safe work practices per company procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and follow safety procedures.
• Overtime is required.
• Maintain schedule flexibility.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Load parts into the machine.
• Start and stop the laser machine process.
• Recognize good and bad cut quality.
• Recognize good and bad cut position.
• Operate hand grinder and sander.
• Apply basic problem-solving to the production process.
• Power up and shut down laser machines.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures.
• Understand job paperwork (IPDS, router, etc.).
• Manage part storage before and after processing.
• Adjust cut quality with manual overrides.
• Read blueprints.
• Load and delete programs.
• Set fixtures and run repeat jobs that do not require CAD changes.
• Locate fixtures using the Hanel Log system.
• Visualize cutting paths.
• Troubleshoot alarms.
• Perform basic welding (tack welds).
