Job summary

AES Corporation seeks an experienced Interconnection Manager (WECC) to lead the WECC Interconnection team across the full project lifecycle, coordinating with development and execution teams to optimize interconnection outcomes.

The role requires deep knowledge of interconnection procedures, tariffs, and regional planning, with responsibility for budget, schedules, and interfacing with TOs and ISOs. Occasional travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years’ experience in renewable or traditional energy development, or transmission planning.
• Experience with utility TRO/ISO or consultants in the targeted footprint preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the WECC Interconnection Engineers and support their development.
• Strategic analysis of interconnection procedures and queue to steer greenfield siting.
• Lead interconnection requests through to Interconnection Agreement with favorable terms.
• Lead WECC interconnection team across full project lifecycle with internal partners.
• Monitor system upgrades progress and identify mitigation solutions within tariffs and processes.
• Travel approximately 20% to support internal and external parties.
