Job summary

The Brandeis Office of Marketing Communications seeks a Web Writer and Content Specialist to join its digital team, creating, editing and publishing high-quality, user-centered content across Brandeis' web properties and digital channels.

This hybrid role at Brandeis University’s campus in Waltham, MA requires three days in the office weekly. The salary range is $82.0 - 87.2K; there are opportunities to influence content direction during a major website redesign.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, English, marketing, digital media or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in web writing or content development.
• Demonstrated range as a writer—from feature stories to YouTube video descriptions to concise digital microcopy.
• Working knowledge of SEO principles including metadata, keyword strategy and content structure.
• Experience with or understanding of user-centered content and UX writing principles.
• Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards and applying them to content.
• Experience with a CMS; HTML familiarity is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI writing tools and using them responsibly in a brand context.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and/or Canva for web image preparation.

Responsibilities

• Write and edit content across Brandeis digital properties including program pages, marketing landing pages, campaign content and other high-touch areas.
• Publish and maintain content using a content management system (CMS) with accurate formatting, linking and page structure.
• Develop editorial content that showcases Brandeis people, programs and achievements across formats.
• Apply SEO and metadata best practices to all content to improve search and discovery.
• Collaborate with designers on visual needs and optimize assets for web use.
