Job summary

Plante Moran Wealth Management in Michigan is seeking an intern to work closely with staff at all levels, gaining hands-on experience in investment planning, financial analysis, and reporting.

You will assess client assets, evaluate financial plans, and prepare client reports. The role emphasizes learning, with CFP coursework and a minimum GPA of 3.0 required; some brokerage experience is preferred. Travel may be part of the role.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, mathematics, economics, accounting or related field.
• Strong interest in investments and economics.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
• Must be able to communicate effectively (both written and verbal).
• Academic success (a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0).
• On track to complete requisite bachelor’s degree and willingness to complete CFP coursework or CFP Board program for CFP license.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients’ assets, liabilities, cash flow, tax status, and financial objectives to develop investment and financial planning solutions.
• Evaluate client financial plans utilizing knowledge of investment and tax strategies and financial securities.
• Perform recurring quality control procedures on account activity ensuring trades and money movements with custodians are correct.
• Prepare reports and charts/graphs to illustrate recommendations and client matters.
