COUNTRY Financial is offering a Wealth Management & Financial Planning Intern opportunity in Bloomington, IL. The role focuses on supporting high-net-worth client relationships and researching advanced financial planning topics, including estate and tax strategies, retirement planning, and charitable giving.

You will assist with prospecting efforts, contribute to process improvements, and collaborate on enterprise-level projects to gain exposure to strategic initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with relationship and prospecting efforts for high-net-worth investment accounts.
  • Conduct research on financial planning topics such as estate planning, tax strategies, retirement planning, business succession and protection planning, and charitable giving.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and assisting with implementation.
  • Work across departments to understand what other areas do and build on personal development.
  • Support the team in providing subject matter expertise for enterprise-level project initiatives.

About the role

As a Wealth Management & Financial Planning Intern, you will play a key role in supporting high-net-worth client relationships and prospecting efforts. This internship offers hands‑on experience in researching advanced financial planning topics-including estate planning, tax strategies, retirement planning, and charitable giving. You'll contribute to process improvement initiatives and assist in implementing solutions that enhance team efficiency. Additionally, you'll collaborate on enterprise-level projects, providing subject matter expertise and gaining exposure to strategic initiatives across the organization.

Application Timeline

We know waiting can be difficult, so we want to set expectations upfront. Our internship recruiting process takes place over several months. Applications open in mid-September and are reviewed as they are received. HR interviews are expected to begin in mid-October, followed by interviews with hiring leaders. Depending on the role and applicant volume, hiring decisions and offers may be made anytime from October through January. We appreciate your patience throughout the process and will communicate updates as they become available.

Required Skills:

Qualifications:

  • Open to all majors with a preference towards Finance, Accounting, Economics, and Business Administration majors.
  • Must be able to work full-time hours from late May 2027 to early August 2027. The internship may be extended part-time through fall 2027 and spring 2028.
  • Graduation date of August 2027 or beyond.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
