Job summary

Sarasota County is seeking a Watershed Modeling Technical Specialist to advance the county's stormwater modeling, drainage reviews, and planning efforts.

You will coordinate model updates, review development plans for stormwater compliance, and support floodplain management. The role involves collaboration with engineers, public works, and external partners to address drainage challenges and ensure sustainable growth.

Qualifications

Hydrodynamic modeling experience and related toolset.
Knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics, water quality concepts.
Experience with StormWise (ICPR), ArcPro and ArcGIS.

Responsibilities

Update and maintain watershed models and GIS databases.
Review site development permits for stormwater compliance.
Assess drainage/floodplain concerns and support planning reviews.
Coordinate with engineers, County staff and partners on stormwater solutions.
