Sarasota County is seeking an engineer to support stormwater management and responsible development. You will review site development permits, evaluate proposals, maintain watershed models, and coordinate with engineers, county staff and external partners to address stormwater concerns.
Responsibilities include updating watershed models, reviewing CFHA assessments, and providing technical comments at DRC meetings and public hearings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related technical field and 2 years engineering/project management experience OR Master’s Degree with 1 year of experience.
- Equivalent combinations may substitute for degree requirements on a year-for-year basis.
- Must obtain EI certification from Florida Board of Engineers at hire time.
Responsabilités
- Review site development permits and CIP projects for UDC compliance and watershed models.
- Prepare written comments and coordinate with engineers of record to resolve issues.
- Review earth-moving permits and plats for stormwater compliance.
- Maintain plans, files, and models; participate in DRC meetings.
