Job summary

Six Flags in Allentown is seeking a Full-time Maintenance Technician to inspect, repair, and rehabilitate amusement rides and attractions. The role requires water quality management, preventative maintenance, and safe operation at heights, with benefits and a 28 USD hourly rate.

The position offers health coverage, vacation, and park access, with weekend and holiday shifts and a focus on guest safety and high-quality park experiences.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years previous experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in an industrial or amusement park setting.
• Familiarity with basic mechanical principles such as gear ratios, torque, proper use of common hand tools, and power transmission components.
• CPO certification after 1 year.
• Pesticides license within the first year.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work safely at heights up to 200 feet.

Responsibilities

• Maintain water quality in pools, ponds and fountains.
• Backwash filters, clean pump screens and baskets, monitor water quality and perform water tests.
• Perform daily inspections and repairs on attractions.
• Able to dig up water lines for repairs and pool repairs as needed.
• Caulking of pools and slides as needed.
• Maintain inventory of equipment.
• Perform inspections of amusement rides and related equipment; take corrective actions.
• Preventative maintenance, inspect, repair and test equipment; replace major components as needed.
• Trouble shoot mechanical and pneumatic systems and take corrective actions.
• Follow repair procedures and document work; maintain records.
• Communicate status of rides; ensure safe operation.
• Maintain equipment safely and according to codes and policies.
• Read manufacturers manuals and blueprints for service and replacement.
• Notify maintenance of problems to ensure safe operation.
• Use soldering and hand/power tools for tasks and repairs.
• Provide guest service per company standards.

Education

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
