Job summary

Dorney Park in Allentown, PA seeks a Full-Time Ride Mechanic to join the Ride Maintenance Team. You will be trained and certified to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and rehabilitate amusement rides and attractions, working at heights and ensuring safety.

This mid-level position offers $28 per hour, year-round hours, and benefits like vacation, health coverage options, 401K match, free park entry for you and guests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• State Ride Inspector Certified within one year. Training provided.
• 2 to 4 years of mechanical experience. Industrial, auto or amusement setting preferred.
• Knowledge of gear ratios, torque, hand tools and nomenclature.
• Familiarity with bearings, bushings, couplers, shafting and similar components.
• Knowledge of pneumatic or hydraulic systems; preferably both.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work safely at heights up to 300 feet and hold PA driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections daily, weekly, monthly, annual and other required inspections; visual and audible checks.
• Performs preventive maintenance, repairs and tests; may involve replacement of major components.
• Troubleshoots mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems under supervision.
• Keeps accurate records of inspections and work performed.
• Communicates ride status verbally and in writing.
• Reads and applies manufacturer manuals for service and replacement.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety per Six Flags guidelines and reports unsafe conditions.
