Job summary

Moffatt & Nichol is seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer to join our Oakland office. The role supports design and analysis of waterfront and marine infrastructure, contributing to structural calculations, drawings, and specifications under supervision.

As an early-career engineer, you will perform finite element modeling, assist with project tasks, and collaborate with drafting and other disciplines. A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering is expected, with 0–3

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with 0-3 years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with 2-4 years of experience.
• Working knowledge of structural engineering, including design and detailing for concrete, steel, and timber waterfront structures.
• Familiarity with finite element modeling is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural analysis, design, and detailing for concrete, steel, and timber waterfront structures
• Assist with preparation of design concepts, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, and quantity takeoffs
• Performs finite element static and dynamic structural modelling
• Coordinates plan details with drafting technicians
• Works closely with other disciplines on multidisciplinary projects
• Assists with inspection of waterfront structures and preparation of inspection reports
• Learns Moffatt & Nichol quality and documentation standards
