Job summary

Camp Birch Hill, a classic New England summer camp in New Hampshire, seeks Waterfront Staff for the 2027 season. You will serve as a camp counselor specializing in lifeguarding and class instruction on our pond activities like swimming, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, and more.

Applicants with an active lifeguard certification are prioritized, but we will consider those who arrive early to complete certification with us.

Qualifications

• Active lifeguard certification preferred.
• Willing to arrive early to obtain certification if needed.
• Experience or comfort working with children aged 6–16.

Job description

We are seeking Waterfront Staff for our 2027 season! Our Waterfront Staff are camp counselors who specialize in lifeguarding and class instruction for activities out on our pond (swimming, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, paddle boarding, water trampoline, etc.) We will prioritize applicants with an active lifeguarding certification, but will also consider those willing to arrive to camp early and complete a certification with us.

We are an all-gender camp for ages 6-16 at the foot of New Hampshire's White Mountains. With a focus on fun, our elective program lets campers choose from over 50 activities to create their own personalized schedule. The camp is nestled into the woods against a pond with 2,000ft of waterfront and a private sandy beach. We have a high ropes course, an arts and crafts pavilion, a theater program, sports fields, tennis courts, water sports, and much more.

When not down at our beach or out on the pond ourWaterfront Staff get the full camp counselor experience. You will spendthe summer sleeping in a cabin, enjoying evenings around a campfire,traveling around New England with co-workers on days off, and building close-lasting connections within our small community.

All applicants must be at least 18 years old and be available for the entire season: June 18th - August 8th, 2027.
