Job summary

American States Utility Services, Inc. is seeking a construction helper to support water and wastewater projects on military installations. You will follow supervision to perform trenching, pipe laying, backfilling, testing, and site preparation while upholding safety rules and procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license; US citizenship is required. Prior related experience is preferred, with extensive safety training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of water and wastewater construction experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and US citizenship are required.
• OSHA safety training or state equivalent to be completed.

Responsibilities

• Perform water and wastewater system construction under supervision.
• Observe safety rules and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Excavate trenches, lay pipe, backfill, and test mains.
• Operate machinery as directed and assist with site preparations.
• Maintain erosion controls and manage materials per plans.
