Job summary

City of Ocoee seeks a Water Treatment Plant Operator to perform operation and maintenance of treatment facilities. You will take samples, run analyses, adjust controls, and monitor key parameters to meet plant objectives.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment, maintaining records, and coordinating with supervisors. A Florida operator license is required or must be obtained within one year of hire; on-call shifts are part of the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must hold a Florida Class C Drinking Water or Wastewater Plant Operator license (or complete requirements within 1 year).
• Experience in water or wastewater treatment operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take samples and perform routine laboratory analyses to determine treatment results and record results.
• Operate and adjust control devices to ensure effective treatment; monitor flow, pH, chlorine residual, and other parameters.
• Inspect equipment (chlorinators, pumps, conveyors) and perform basic maintenance as directed.
• Maintain accurate operational records and report malfunctions to supervisor.
• Work shifts and be on-call after hours and on weekends as assigned.
