Job summary

City of Eustis seeks a dependable individual to operate and maintain water treatment facilities under supervision. The role emphasizes adherence to policies and procedures and independent work at a municipal plant.

Qualified candidates will hold a Florida water or wastewater operator license and have relevant experience. The job includes on-call shifts and requires driving a vehicle when needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or recognized equivalent.
• Florida Class C Water or Wastewater Operator License issued by the State of Florida.
• One year of responsible experience in water or wastewater operation.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains valves, gates, pumps, engines, generators and other equipment.
• Maintains cleanliness of facilities.
• Repairs mechanical equipment and machinery.
• Monitors, calculates, interprets and records gauges, meters and control panels.
• Extracts samples and performs tests to determine processing requirements.
• Makes adjustments to chlorinators and other machinery and equipment.
• Oversees and trains Operator Trainees as required.
• Reviews and maintains records and reports.
• Assists in preparing for and aftermath of major emergencies.
