Village of Palm Springs seeks a Water Plant Operator to assist in daily plant operations and ensure water quality. You will take samples, record meter readings, and manage chemical additions under supervision. The role requires reading and following procedures with attention to safety and accuracy.
Responsibilities include operating pumps, maintaining records, and escalating issues to supervision. A high school diploma or GED is required, with licensing pursued within 12 months of hire.
Employees in this class assist in the operation and care of a variety of water treatment plant operations during an assigned shift, and perform related work as required. This is specialized work in the operation of a water treatment plant.

High school diploma or G.E.D. is required. Certification or graduation from a trade school is preferred. Supplemental courses in chemistry or related subjects, mechanical aptitude or any other equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be acceptable. Employee must be able to read, write and speak English and must also possess good math and analytical skills.
Employee must secure a class “C” Water Control Operator License from the State of Florida within 12 months of the date of employment. This is a condition for continued employment.
