Job summary

City of Ocoee, Florida is seeking a qualified Water/Wastewater Plant Operator to perform operation and maintenance of treatment facilities and analyze data to meet plant objectives.

The role includes adjusting controls, maintaining equipment, recording parameters, and coordinating with staff to resolve issues. A Florida Class C license or the ability to obtain one within a year is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must possess either a Florida Class C Drinking Water or Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator license or commit to completing licensing requirements within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Takes water and/or wastewater samples and performs analyses to determine treatment results.
• Operates and adjusts control devices to provide effective treatment and monitors gauges and meters.
• Inspects and maintains plant equipment such as chlorinators, digesters, pumps, and screens.
• Maintains accurate records of operational parameters and reports malfunctions to supervisor.
• Works shifts and is on-call after hours and weekends as assigned.
