Job summary

The City of Ocala invites applications for Lead Treatment Plant Operator to manage on-site water and wastewater plant operations. You will supervise certified operators, coordinate daily activities, and report to the Plant Manager.

You will develop operation reports, maintain records, ensure safety, and participate in training and budget discussions to keep the facility compliant and efficient 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum five years of documented water/wastewater experience.
• 2080 hours in a wastewater/water facility.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct water/wastewater operations.
• Develop daily, monthly and yearly operation reports.
• Maintain records for operations, maintenance, and chemicals.
• Supervise and train plant staff.
• Ensure safety compliance and manage schedules.
• Oversee budget preparation and expenditures.
• Coordinate with divisions and attend trainings.
• Provide customer service and handle odor complaints.
