Job summary

HKA Enterprises is seeking a Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to perform daily operation and maintenance tasks at a water/wastewater treatment plant, including equipment maintenance, quality control testing, and process monitoring on an assigned shift.

The role requires a Florida Class C Wastewater License or Class C Water License with willingness to obtain wastewater certification and at least one year of plant-operating experience; a valid driver’s license is also required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Florida Class C Wastewater License, or Class C Water License and willing to obtain wastewater certification.
• One year of experience operating water/wastewater treatment plants.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operate treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water/wastewater, sludge, and effluent.
• Monitor gauges, meters, and control panels.
• Observe variations in operating conditions and interpret meter/gauge readings.
• Operate valves and gates manually or by remote control.
• Start and stop pumps, engines, and generators to control treatment processes.
• Maintain shift logs and record meter/gauge readings.
• Collect samples and perform routine laboratory tests and analyses.
• Perform routine maintenance and custodial duties.
• Make operating decisions in the absence of supervisory personnel.
• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted during the course of work.
• Perform other duties as required.

Seeking a Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to perform daily operation and maintenance tasks at a water/wastewater treatment plant, including equipment maintenance, quality control testing, and process monitoring on an assigned shift. This role typically holds, or is working toward, an intermediate-level water/wastewater treatment certification. Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
