Job summary

Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) is seeking a Water/Wastewater Wage Instructor for COAST/TRAIN in Corpus Christi and Brownsville, TX. This temporary/casual role focuses on delivering training to water and wastewater personnel with emphasis on safety and technical proficiency.

The instructor will prepare and present classes, use teaching aids, and manage required paperwork while maintaining current knowledge in the field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three years of experience in operation, maintenance, design, construction, or regulation of water utility systems.
• Residence in Aransas, Bee, Brooks, Cameron, Duval, Hidalgo, Jim Wells, Kenedy, Kleberg, Live Oak, Nueces, Refugio, San Patricio, Starr, or Willacy counties.
• Must have a valid driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Texas Class "B" Water License.
• Texas Class "B" Wastewater License or Wastewater Collection II or III.
• Equivalency: five years related experience with Associate's Degree OR seven years with High School Diploma/GED.

Responsibilities

• Assist in training various skilled and semi-skilled courses within TEEX Workforce Development Programs.
• Deliver and conduct training for water and wastewater utility personnel.
• Prepare classrooms and topics, deliver classes with teaching aids, and complete required administrative paperwork.
• Maintain technical competence and skills relevant to the role.
• Report to the ITSI Workforce Development Program Coordinator.
