Job summary

American States Utility Services, Inc. is seeking a field technician to perform water and wastewater system maintenance on military installations across the United States.

Under supervision, you will inspect, service, and troubleshoot water and sewer assets, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. You will handle customer interactions, read and interpret technical documents, and support service orders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain state water and/or wastewater training permits within 90 days if applicable.
• Must possess and keep current a valid Driver's License issued by the state where employed.
• Must be able to obtain applicable Commercial Driver's Permit within six months and Commercial Driver's License within one year of hire date.
• Must take Federal OSHA/US Army Corps of Engineers safety training with annual refreshers.

Responsibilities

• Under close supervision, performs water and wastewater system maintenance activities.
• Inspects and services water mains, meters, hydrants, and related assets.
• Inspects and maintains sewer lines and lift stations; operates video equipment.
• Responds to service orders and marks infrastructure locations.
• Performs basic preventive maintenance on heavy machinery and assists with system flushing and spill programs.
• Completes paperwork for work orders and records.
