Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC is seeking a qualified water/wastewater operator to join our operating team in the Somerset, PA area. The role is remote, but candidates must reside in or relocate to Somerset, PA and support field operations at client sites.

You will monitor treatment facilities, collect samples, analyze data, and help optimize processes while performing preventive maintenance and reporting findings to project managers. A valid PA license or ability to obtain within a year is required.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in water or wastewater plant operations or related environmental services.
• PA Water/Wastewater Operator License or ability to obtain within one year.
• Ability to monitor system performance and interpret data in real time.
• Experience with CMMS or SCADA systems is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and independent fieldwork capability.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Travel to client sites to perform evaluations of WTP/WWTP and related infrastructure.
• Monitor treatment performance, pumps, meters, and control systems.
• Collect and analyze water/wastewater samples and report results.
• Review and optimize processes to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on treatment and distribution systems.
• Inspect and repair mechanical and electrical components and respond to alarms.
