Job summary

RK&K seeks an experienced Structural Project Manager to lead a growing municipal infrastructure team. The role requires guiding structural projects from concept through construction, mentoring staff, and serving as the primary contact for clients, prime PMs, and subconsultants.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of structural engineering experience, strong project management skills, and a track record of delivering within budget and schedule while upholding RK&K quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural focus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 10+ years' experience in structural engineering, with emphasis on environmental facilities and building-type structures.
• Knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, ACI 350, AISC 360, and TMS 402/602.
• Understanding of wind/seismic lateral load paths and liquid-retaining concrete design.
• Experience with proposals or technical statements of work.

Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver structural engineering scope for environmental projects within schedule and budget.
• Lead project teams in structural analyses, calculations, specs, and contract documents.
• Assist in development of project scopes, fee proposals, and task schedules with budget tracking.
• Provide technical direction on complex design tasks (concrete, steel, masonry).
• Perform quality control reviews and QA for structural deliverables.
• Assign resources and mentor engineers to support development.
• Coordinate with discipline leads and PMs to resolve constraints.
• Serve as primary structural contact for clients and subconsultants; participate in meetings.
• Plan site investigations, condition assessments, and structural inspections of facilities.
• Develop engineering reports and repair strategies for deteriorated structures.
• Oversee construction-phase structural services, including RFIs and field observations.
• Ensure compliance with codes and client requirements.
• Maintain PE licensure and pursue ongoing development.
