Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Superintendent with a Water/Wastewater background for the Sanford, FL area. You will direct and supervise all field personnel on water and wastewater treatment plant and line work construction projects.

Responsibilities include safety, quality, scheduling, inspections, field documentation, and coordination of subs, materials, and As-Built drawings. The role requires strong communication and onsite leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising projects in the water or wastewater industry.
• Experience with self-performing cast-in-place concrete, piping, and mechanical equipment.
• Appropriate supervisory experience.
• Good communication and people skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Current training as Competent Person in Trenching, Scaffolds, Rigging, Confined Space, and Fall Protection.
• Current OSHA 10-hour, First Aid & CPR, SWPPP Inspector, silica, Risk Management and Accident training.
• History of successful multi-million-dollar project completions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the project to maintain a safe workplace and enforce safety policy.
• Ensure quality standards are met or exceeded.
• Short-term scheduling including manpower and equipment resources.
• Coordinate permit and regulatory inspections.
• Field document control including daily reports.
• Progress photographs.
• Material handling (receiving, inventory, storage, spare parts).
• Subcontract coordination and jobsite hiring as required.
• As-Built drawings and post-construction review participation.
• Small tool management and comprehension of contract documents.
• Maintain a clean and orderly jobsite; ensure on-time, on-budget completion.
