Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. seeks an Area Superintendent – Water/Wastewater to lead regional projects from our Sanford, FL office. The role supports pre-construction activities, including design reviews and pre-bid site visits, while guiding field teams and ensuring execution to plan.

The candidate brings 15+ years in construction/CM, 10+ years as a Project Superintendent, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills. Travel to regional sites is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 15+ years of construction or construction management experience.
• 10+ years of experience as a Project Superintendent.
• OSHA 10-Hour certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight, leadership, and management support for regional projects.
• Attend pre-job planning meetings and assist with baseline schedules.
• Review scopes, report changes, and coordinate with Project Manager.
• Monitor project quality and ensure work meets specifications.
• Mentor and develop field staff and support cross-BU staffing as needed.
• Support pre-construction activities including plan reviews and site visits.
