Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC is seeking a Water/Wastewater Associate Project Manager to join our Northeast Division. The role focuses on applying engineering expertise to water and wastewater projects while expanding into project management, in a hybrid setting with options in Quincy, MA, Woburn, MA, or Providence, RI.

Relocation support may be available for candidates moving to New England. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of water or wastewater design experience, a Civil/Environmental Engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• PE license or ability to obtain one within 6 months.
• 5+ years' of water or wastewater systems design experience in a professional services environment.
• Must have a driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Project Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of both large and small projects.
• Works effectively and efficiently within prescribed budgets, and monitors performance on a weekly basis.
• Develops and negotiates scopes, fees, and schedules with sub-consultants under the guidance of the Project Manager.
• Develops technical solutions to more complex projects by applying engineering knowledge and skills to produce quality work.
• Assists in the development and execution of all aspects of the project scope of work.
• Assists the Project Manager in complying with assigned project schedules and budget on more complex projects by actively reporting on project progress and identifying additional work outside the contractual scope.
• Works closely with Project Managers to gain project management experience.
• Responsible for financial performance on tasks or projects under their control.
• Serves as the Technical Lead in respective discipline for more complex projects; will be responsible for the technical coordination among other design disciplines and subcontractors or subconsultants.
