Job summary

Aqua in Richmond, VA seeks a Project Engineer I to plan and design water and wastewater capital projects of medium to high complexity. The role requires reviewing policies, assessing reports, developing project plans, and coordinating design and construction with internal staff and external contractors.

Responsibilities include preparing cost estimates, schedules, budgets, permit applications, and working with state agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field.
• Virginia EIT and ability to obtain P.E. license within 4 years.
• 2+ years in hydraulic modeling, planning and analysis of water distribution and sewer systems.
• Experience with hydraulic field testing and master planning for water systems.

Responsibilities

• Facility planning for capital improvements to maintain service and compliance.
• Prepare cost estimates and schedules for capital projects.
• Design and construction oversight of regional projects with internal and external resources.
• Prepare permit applications and engage with regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate design and construction with divisions, contractors and suppliers.
