Job summary

Aqua Texas is seeking a Project Engineer III to lead capital projects across the East Texas region, collaborating with operations and regulatory teams to deliver compliant, reliable water and wastewater systems.

You will manage design firms, oversee project scope and budgets, and guide technical reviews while supporting new technologies and system enhancements to meet future growth and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field required.
• Professional Engineer’s License (PE) in the State of Texas or ability to achieve within 6 months of hire.
• 6+ years of professional experience in Water and/or Wastewater and budget management of projects over $1M. Wastewater preferred.
• Project Management experience preferred, PMI Certification a plus.
• Experience conducting field testing, data collection programs, and master planning for water distribution systems and sewer collection systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct project management support in the design and construction management of capital projects to support Aqua Texas as needed.
• Manage and coordinate third-party consulting design firms and the preparation of technical, bidding and contractual documents.
• Oversee scope and quality of work to meet design concepts and company standards for capacity, performance and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as a senior technical manager for water/wastewater treatment design and related analyses.
• Conduct technical reviews of treatment and conveyance designs prepared by others.
• Manage capital project delivery from planning through construction and commissioning.
• Recommend and support pilot studies and investigate new treatment technologies.
• Work with Operations Teams to optimize treatment processes and apply new technologies.
