Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking Project Engineers to support the Water/Wastewater Division in the Sanford, FL area. The successful candidate will interface with estimating, project assistants, and the Project Manager on construction management tasks for water and wastewater facilities.

Responsibilities include scheduling, procurement, RFIs, shop drawings, field coordination, and quality conformance. Entry-level and experienced candidates are encouraged to apply with relevant

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• 1-2 years of internship or related project management/engineering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction management duties for water and wastewater facilities and pump stations.
• Develop purchase orders and subcontractor scopes of work.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors throughout the project.
• Draft RFIs to Owner or Engineer.
• Maintain project schedules using P6 scheduling software.
• Review and process shop drawings; manage long-lead equipment procurement.
• Procure materials and expedite for self-perform work; maintain logs.
• Provide support to Project Manager to maximize management effectiveness.
