Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to support the Water/Wastewater Division in the Central Florida area.

The successful candidate will help complete field tasks assigned by the Project Superintendent and Craft Foreman, assist with structure layout, and contribute to planning construction and project documentation. You will maintain logs and schedules, prepare shop drawings, identify RFIs, collect O&M materials, conduct subcontract scope analysis, assist with purchasing

Qualifications

• Surveying and layout skills are required.
• Strong technical writing ability is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Foreman with structure layout.
• Field purchase orders.
• Engineering duties as assigned for planning construction.
• Maintain and update project logs and schedules.
• Identify need for RFIs.
• Prepare, review and process shop drawings.
• Maintain as-built drawings.
• Collect and assemble O&M material.
• Perform subcontract scope analysis.
• Assist with purchasing and expediting.
• Document distribution.
• Meeting minutes and distribution.
• Scheduling.
