Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Superintendent – Water/Wastewater to lead onsite field operations in Sanford, FL. The role drives project execution, mentors field teams, and collaborates with executives to meet schedule and budget targets.

The position requires a high level of leadership, safety oversight, and ability to manage multiple complex projects, with a focus on constructability, coordination, and client relations on water/wastewater facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and extensive field leadership experience will be considered.
• Minimum 15 years of construction-related or construction management experience on large-scale projects.
• Minimum 5 years of senior field leadership or Project Superintendent experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills.
• OSHA 30-Hour certification required; First Aid & CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for onsite field administration, supervision, and technical management of construction activities.
• Oversee construction execution on large/high-profile projects to ensure compliance with standards, budgets, and schedules.
• Mentor field leadership teams and assist with staffing, succession planning, and development initiatives.
• Promote safety culture and ensure OSHA compliance across projects.
• Support pre-construction planning, constructability reviews, and project startup activities.
