Job summary

San Elijo Joint Powers Authority is seeking an Associate Engineer/Project Manager to lead field and office engineering for recycled water and wastewater systems. The role oversees project management, contract administration, and regulatory compliance, and supports design and construction of capital projects.

The position requires a BS in Civil Engineering, 4+ years of water/wastewater experience, and a California driver license; PE licensure is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related field; MS preferred.
• PE licensure preferred; EIT may be considered with qualifications.
• California driver license required; insurance eligibility per standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering design, calculations, and analyses; prepare drawings and estimates.
• Manage capital and maintenance projects from planning to closeout.
• Prepare scopes, RFPs, and contract documents; evaluate bids and support negotiations.
• Monitor regulatory permits and prepare compliance reports.
• Develop SOPs, safety protocols, and asset management practices.
• Prepare reports and presentations for management and regulatory bodies.
