Job summary

Unknown WV water treatment facility seeks a self-directed operator to perform daily water and wastewater plant operations, collect samples, read meters, and test for potability. The role collaborates with contracted providers three days weekly, handling emergencies and ensuring compliance with state rules.

Supervisory duties may include inmate operators and coordination with maintenance staff. Completion of required training leads to certification as Class II Water Plant Operator and Class S

Qualifications

• Must be certified operator or operator-in-training as defined by W. Va. Code of State Rules 64CSR4 and 64CSR5.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the water and wastewater treatment plant to ensure safe drinking water and compliance with DHHR WV rules.
• Coordinate with Contracted Water Plant Service Providers onsite three days per week for daily routine water plant functions (meter readings, testing, potability checks).
• Handle water/wastewater plant emergencies in the absence of the Contracted Service Provider.
• May supervise an inmate Operator-in-Training and/or inmate certified operators; work with Maintenance Department and oversee an Inmate Work Crew as needed.
