Job summary

The Western Virginia Water Authority is seeking a skilled Wastewater Operator III to join the Water Quality Division. You will operate and monitor plant processes, collect samples, generate reports, and coordinate with the shift team to ensure safe and compliant wastewater treatment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (GED acceptable) with related coursework, a Class III WV DR/DPOR license, and at least one year of experience in a treatment facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with relevant coursework.
• One+ year of wastewater experience preferred.
• Class III WV DR/DPOR license required.

Responsibilities

• Makes regular tours of plant and equipment.
• Assesses operating conditions via instrument readings and process calculations.
• Regulates and adjusts equipment based on operating conditions.
• Communicates with Shift Supervisor and other operators to coordinate treatment.
• Completes regular operation reports and maintains records.
