Job summary

H2O Innovation in Johnson, VT seeks a Water and Wastewater Treatment Operator in Training to join a hands-on program. The role involves conducting tests, collecting samples, and maintaining data with precision, while ensuring adherence to safety guidelines.

The position requires an on-call schedule and occasional weekend coverage as part of a full-time commitment. Active participation in training, equipment troubleshooting under supervision, and helping maintain facility cleanliness are key

Qualifications

• Background in water or wastewater operations beneficial
• Must be 18 years or older
• Valid driver’s license required

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine water and wastewater tests, perform daily observations and lab tests, and collect regulatory samples and meter readings with integrity and accuracy
• Enter test results into the logbook and data management system; report abnormalities to manager
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and report needed repairs (pumps, valves, motors, blowers)
• Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment under supervision
• Track lab supplies and inform manager when replenishment is needed
• Assist teammates and train staff as needed to ensure efficient operations
• Maintain cleanliness and organization at the facility, including waste removal, sweeping, mopping, and groundskeeping
• Follow safety guidelines and report safety concerns; respond to on-call emergencies within 30 minutes when scheduled
• Report issues or changes to the manager promptly
• Perform additional duties to support operations and objectives
