Job summary

Nexus Water Group is seeking a Water/Wastewater Operator I to perform routine facility checks and ensure regulatory compliance. You will monitor systems, diagnose equipment issues, and assist with maintenance and customer service tasks across Water/Wastewater operations.

Responsibilities include daily data logging for EPA/TCEQ reports, ordering supplies, and supporting the start of certification timelines for licenses. On-site role with opportunity to advance in operations.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED plus job-related skills in water/wastewater operations.
• Experience: 1 year in water/wastewater system operations, maintenance, and customer service.
• Licenses: Class D Ground Water and Wastewater Certification due within 1 year; Class C within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine facility checks to ensure compliance with permits.
• Operate equipment and monitor daily operations; diagnose issues.
• Order supplies to maintain inventory.
• May supervise Field Technician in Training and train staff.
• Analyze daily effluent samples and adjust to stay within permit limits.
• Maintain daily EPA/TCEQ data logs for reports.
• Assist with preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Assist with water/wastewater line repairs and new installations.
• Inspect pumps, motors, valves, and related equipment; troubleshoot.
• Respond to customer service calls and inquiries.
