Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking an Environmental Technician 2 to support water and wastewater operations across client sites. This role emphasizes field performance, data collection, and regulatory compliance in a dynamic environment.

Ideal candidates will have a PA Water/Wastewater Operator License or be able to obtain within a year, with strong problem-solving and reporting abilities. The position offers remote work flexibility while requiring relocation to Somerset, PA area if necessary.

Qualifications

• Experience in water or wastewater plant operations or related environmental services.
• PA Water/Wastewater Operator License or ability to obtain within one year.
• Knowledge of treatment processes, chemical dosing, sampling, and process control.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting electrical/mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Travel to client sites to evaluate water and wastewater facilities.
• Monitor treatment system performance and control systems.
• Collect and analyze water samples; interpret results for compliance.
• Review and optimize chemical feed systems for efficiency.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on treatment and distribution systems.
• Record data and prepare written reports for supervisors.
• Ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, and state standards.
• Operate company vehicles safely and coordinate materials for operations.
