Job summary

City-of-Sachs seeks a Water and Wastewater Superintendent to provide professional leadership and strategic management of the city's water distribution and wastewater systems. You will oversee operations, regulatory compliance, and capital improvements, ensuring safe, reliable utility services.

The ideal candidate will bring strong supervisory skills, experience with SCADA, and the ability to coordinate with staff, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least five years of experience in utility construction and/or maintenance, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity.
• Must hold or obtain a Class C Water Distribution license (TCEQ) within six months of hire.
• Must hold or obtain a Class III Wastewater Collection Operator license (TCEQ) within six months of hire.
• Must possess and maintain a State of Texas Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within six months of date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plans, assigns, supervises, and evaluates personnel in water and wastewater operations.
• Addresses resident inquiries and service requests with timely, professional resolutions.
• Oversees 24/7 SCADA operations and rapid response for emergencies.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local water/wastewater regulations and reporting.
• Supports CIP development, project reviews, inspections, and contractor oversight.
• Assists in annual budget preparation and monitoring for water and wastewater operations.
• Manages work orders and project tracking using iWorq, SeeClickFix, PASER.
• Coordinates special events and emergency preparedness activities as needed.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
