Job summary

North Texas Municipal Water District is seeking a Maintenance Planner and Scheduler to establish, maintain, and improve planning processes for reliable, cost-efficient operations across its water and wastewater facilities.

You will collaborate with maintenance trades, plant operators, and asset risk managers to develop work plans, manage parts, schedule work weekly, and support shutdowns while upholding NTMWD safety standards.

Qualifications

• Ten years of experience in water/wastewater treatment maintenance or equivalent education/experience.
• Preference for CMRP certification within 3 years of hire.
• High school diploma or GED; associate degree or trade certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and guide work programs to reduce asset failure risk and improve reliability.
• Prioritize preventive and corrective work backlog based on criticality.
• Develop work plans with detailed information for scheduling and execution.
• Coordinate with warehouse to ensure parts availability.
• Maintain and monitor weekly maintenance schedule.
• Oversee purchasing to secure materials ahead of work.
• Ensure proper coding of work orders and capture costs.
• Assist in plant or pipeline shutdown planning and emergency support.
