Job summary

North Texas Municipal Water District seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to plan and execute facility maintenance, perform proactive and reactive repairs, and manage asset renewal activities across multiple plants.

The role leads and mentors staff, develops preventive maintenance plans, maintains safety practices, and coordinates service requests while ensuring accurate records and efficient operations in a wastewater environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• 4 years in industrial maintenance or equivalent.
• CMRT or CMRP certifications preferred; TCEQ licenses preferred.
• CMRP certification within 3 years of hire preferred.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct facility maintenance, including proactive and reactive repair and renewal activities.
• Train, lead, mentor, and evaluate staff; foster integrity, trust, and teamwork.
• Create and manage service requests and work orders; manage backlog and schedules.
• Review logs to diagnose issues and perform root cause analyses.
• Develop and revise preventive maintenance plans for facility assets.
• Ensure safe work practices and compliance with safety policies.
• Monitor facility security and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Communicate with stakeholders regarding asset maintenance and performance.
