Job summary

San Antonio Water System is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Northeast Service Center in San Antonio, TX. This role operates and maintains a fleet of heavy and specialized equipment to support water distribution and wastewater collection projects.

You will excavate trenches, transport tools, load materials, and follow safety procedures while updating job orders and assisting the Foreperson. A Texas Class A CDL and 3+ years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 3 years of heavy equipment operating experience in construction, water, or wastewater settings.
• Valid Texas Class A CDL required.
• Position-specific physical testing.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains heavy and specialized equipment including dump trucks, loaders, backhoes, and cranes.
• Excavates and backfills trenches to complete repairs.
• Transports equipment, tools and materials to and from job sites.
• Loads and unloads materials from trucks.
• Updates work orders in CMMS and follows safety procedures.
