Job summary

City of San Antonio seeks an Equipment Operator to perform skilled work operating light to heavy equipment for maintenance and construction of parks, streets, and public properties, under immediate supervision.

The role requires one year of equipment operation or completion of SA Ready to Work CDL training, and a valid Texas Class B CDL with endorsements within six months. Work location: Ron Darner Headquarters, 5800 Enrique M Barrera Parkway.

Qualifications

• Operate light to heavy equipment for maintenance and construction tasks.
• Must obtain a valid Texas Class B CDL and endorsements within six months.
• Ability to read and follow work orders and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operates a 10 cy or smaller dump trucks to and from work locations and sites.
• Performs minor maintenance and service checks on equipment.
• Performs unskilled and semi-skilled labor related to maintenance activities.
• May prepare a daily log of activities.
• Cleans debris from streets, parks, drainage, and other areas; may lift up to 50 pounds.
• Transports tools and equipment; assists with placing barricades and safety cones.
• Performs related duties as required.
