Job summary

Strategic Government Resources, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to drive and operate heavy machinery used in the maintenance of a water distribution and wastewater system.

The role includes backhoe work, trenching, and assisting crews in repairs on municipal facilities. The candidate must have a Texas CDL Class A license (or obtain within 6 months) and hold or obtain Class II Waste Water and Class C Water Distribution Licenses within one year.

Qualifications

• One year of experience operating heavy motorized equipment.
• Experience in water/sewer field operations or utility construction for a municipality.
• Knowledge of safety procedures for excavating and operating heavy equipment; ability to follow oral and written directions.

Responsibilities

• Drive dump truck with backhoe to job locations and operate hydraulic jackhammer to break pavement.
• Uncover water or sewer lines; dig trenches to install pipe.
• Assist crews in repairs and maintain equipment and neat appearance; perform daily preventive maintenance.
