Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Texas CDL Class A license required or must be obtained within 6 months.
• Must have or obtain Class II Waste Water and Class C Water Distribution licenses within 1 year.
• 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment.
• 1 year of water/sewer field operations or municipal utility construction.
• Knowledge of TCEQ and AWWA rules and regulations.
• Ability to read and follow oral/written directions.

Responsibilities

• Operate dump truck with backhoe at job locations.
• Operate hydraulic jackhammer to break pavement.
• Uncover water or sewer lines and dig trenches to install pipe.
• Assist crews in repairs and maintain equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Follow instructions and safety precautions; communicate with others on site.
• Standby for after-hours emergency work as required.
