Job summary

Essential Utilities, Inc., operating as Aqua, is hiring a Utility Technician to support water distribution and wastewater systems. You will perform semi-skilled installation, maintenance and repair of valves, meters, gauges, pumps, and related equipment using hand and power tools, and you’ll assist with customer service issues and site housekeeping.

You will read meters as needed, update work orders, and help keep facilities clean and safe.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• No prior experience required; mechanical/electrical experience preferred.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• CDL within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair valves, meters, gauges, pumps, and related equipment using hand and power tools.
• Operate routine maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Load and unload equipment, chemicals and supplies at worksites and storage areas.
• Read meters as needed and update documentation; close work orders in the system.
• Adhere to safety and security policies to ensure a safe working environment.
