Job summary

American Water is seeking a supervisor to oversee day-to-day water and wastewater operations in Farmingdale, NJ. The role emphasizes adherence to company policies, regulatory compliance, and safe operational practices.

The candidate will lead a team, manage budgets, and support process improvements while coordinating with cross-functional partners. A valid license and relevant certifications are preferred, with on-site responsibilities and a 7:00am–3:30pm schedule.

Qualifications

Minimum 2-5 years experience in operations.
Valid driver's license required.
Water and/or wastewater certification is a plus.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
Experience managing a team and union workforce preferred.
Strong Excel knowledge.

Responsibilities

Supervise regional water/wastewater operations within established budget.
Assures policies, procedures, programs and performance are adhered to for efficiency and profitability.
Train and develop personnel in operational integrity and safety.
Obtain all required permits, licenses, rights of way, etc. for compliance.
May be involved in customer service related issues.
Support pricing analysis and integration of opportunities in both regulated and non-regulated markets.
