Job summary

Sundt Enterprise is seeking Estimator I and II to join the preconstruction department in Irving, TX. The role develops basic estimating skills and supports bids for large projects or multiple smaller ones, including conceptual estimating and understanding indirect costs.

Primary duties involve quantity takeoffs, pricing of logistics, drafting subcontracts, and assisting in preparing key estimating deliverables under supervision.

Qualifications

• Experience: Estimator I (1–3 years) or Estimator II (2–5 years).
• Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
• LEED accreditation preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite programs.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs quantity takeoff.
• Assists in pricing project logistics, including hoisting and temporary construction elements.
• Develops abstracts and evaluates basic trade bids.
• Develops understanding of indirect costs (insurance, taxes, fees).
• Develops pricing for basic project elements and assists in preparing estimating deliverables.
• Drafts subcontracts and purchase orders for review by senior personnel.
• Provides document control (sub lists, distribution of plans, addenda).
• Solicits pricing for projects in hard bid environments.
• Supports conceptual estimating efforts with model development for review by senior personnel.
• With oversight, develops budget uploads and purchasing plans.
