Job summary

Sundt Enterprise in Tempe, AZ is seeking developmental Estimator I/II positions within the preconstruction department. Responsibilities include participation in bid efforts, supporting Design Build and CM at Risk methods, and providing administrative support to estimating.

This role develops competence in basic estimating and gains exposure to conceptual estimating and indirect costs. Ideal candidates have a 4-year engineering degree or equivalent, and are pursuing LEED accreditation.

Qualifications

• Experience levels: Estimator I 1-3 years; Estimator II 2-5 years.
• Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combination of training/experience.
• LEED accreditation preferred or willing to obtain.
• Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs quantity takeoff.
• Assists in pricing of project logistics (hoisting, lifts, temporary elements).
• Develops abstracts and evaluates basic trade bids.
• Understands indirect costs (insurance, taxes, fees).
• Develops pricing for basic project elements & assists in preparing estimating deliverables.
• Drafts subcontracts and purchase orders for review by seniors.
• Provides document control for assigned projects.
• Solicits pricing for projects in hard bid environments.
• Supports conceptual estimating efforts with basic models for review.
• With oversight, develops budget uploads and purchasing plans.
